Week 6 - Spooky Chandeliers

Hi everyone,

We hope you're all well and not too bogged down with essays at the moment! We've been getting thoroughly into the Halloween spirit and today's craft is one we've all been really excited about - spoooky chandeliers! So if you're hosting or attending any halloween parties next week, this will help turn your lovely flat into a horrible haunted house...
You can access the templates that we used to make our chandeliers here

Don't forget there's a slight change next week (Wednesday 31st) seeing as it's Halloween we won't be meeting in the Chaplaincy, we'll at one of our flat's for pumpkin carving and soup making! The address details will be sent out in the weekly email, see you next week!

Week 5 - Felt Coasters

Howdy guys!

This Wednesday, we've been making felt coasters. These are an essential for all tea/coffee/hot chocolate lovers but don't waste your pennies buying boring old coasters, that's what we're here for - Create provides all the materials and information needed for you to make your own unique pieces!

Also just a little heads up, we think these would make an awesome Christmas present if you're wanting to give your nearest and dearest something a little bit more personal this festive season, so why not get practicing now as these will be sure to impress!

Week 4 - Jewellery Holders

Hello again,

This week we were making jewellery holders - this were so easy to make using just cardboard and mesh but don't they look amazing once  assembled altogether and decorated?! They're perfect for displaying your favourite earrings and preventing those annoying tangles!

And if you're in need of some new jewellery to showcase on your holder, we have the just the thing as our Jewellery Evening is coming up on Friday 19th October, 7-10pm in the Loft Bar, Teviot.

Week 2 & 3 - Door Stops

Hello all, hope you're well!

We've been working on our first two week craft - denim door stops! Whether you're settling into halls or are back in your old flat after a long summer away, you'll be needing one of this handmade door stops as a 'door-open' policy is key to socialising with your neighbours!

In the first week, we created the body of our door stops using denim and embroidered the fabric with patterns and designs. Then this week, we came ready prepared with bags of sand to act as the filler weighing down the door stops. Here are some examples of the finished pieces!
